Allahabad Bank's ex-MD dismissed

India Business Journal - - NEWS ROUND-UP -

Nearly three months after Allahabad Bank divested its MD and CEO Usha Ananthasubramanian from all functional responsibilities, the government last month dismissed her from service, according to an official notification. Ms Ananthasubramanian is the former CEO and MD of scam-hit Punjab National Bank. She was named in a CBI chargesheet in the Rs 14,000-crore PNB fraud case but had continued to be an employee of the bank. She was to superannuate last month but has been dismissed from service before her retirement. The government has also given permission to CBI to prosecute Ms Ananthasubramanian.
