Porsche says no to diesel engines
Porsche has said that it will become the first German automobile company to abandon the diesel engine. Instead, the luxury sports car brand will concentrate on its core strength of petrol, hybrid and, from 2019, purely electric vehicles. The Porsche has conceded that the step is a result of the dieselgate scandal at auto giant Volkswagen. In 2015, Volkswagen had admitted to US regulators to having installed so-called defeat devices in 11 million cars worldwide to dupe emissions tests and obscure its much higher emissions on the road. In February, Stuttgartbased Porsche stopped taking orders for diesel models.
