Nokia axes 250 jobs in USA
Nokia Networks is planning to make some drastic cuts, a move which began with laying off 250 employees at its Naperville location last month. The company is likely to lay off 250 more workers before the end of 2018. Representatives for Nokia have said that the layoffs are a part of "a global synergy and transformation programme" that started when the company acquired the Naperville-based AlcatelLucent in 2016 and is expected to last until the end of the year. Nokia's spokesperson did not say how many jobs were cut or would be cut, but acknowledged "reduced headcount in Illinois".
