Air­bus De­fence and Space Ap­points Four New Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee Mem­bers

MU­NICH. As part of its re­or­gan­i­sa­tion fol­low­ing the divi­sion's strat­egy up­date, Air­bus De­fence and Space has ap­pointed Jana Rosen­mann, Grazia Vit­ta­dini, Bern­hard Bren­ner and Peter Weckesser as new ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee mem­bers.

The new or­gan­i­sa­tion fo­cuses on four pro­gramme lines: Mil­i­tary Air­craft, Space Sys­tems, CIS ( Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, In­tel­li­gence and Se­cu­rity) and Un­manned Aerial Sys­tems. The lat­ter was added as a re­sult of the strat­egy up­date and is led by Rosen­mann.

"We have as­sem­bled a strong lead­er­ship team that is com­mit­ted to gen­er­at­ing fu­ture growth and se­cur­ing global com­pet­i­tive­ness of our de­fence and space busi­ness," said Dirk Hoke, CEO of Air­bus De­fence and Space. "I am par­tic­u­larly satisfied that we have been able to di­ver­sify and re­ju­ve­nate our top man­age­ment team with these ap­point­ments. The ex­per­tise, agility and ded­i­ca­tion of the new team will help us to fo­cus on and achieve our strat­egy ob­jec­tives."

The divi­sion is putting an in­creased fo­cus on en­gi­neer­ing, for which Vit­ta­dini has been ap­pointed. With a strong back­ground in chief en­gi­neer­ing ac­tiv­i­ties at Air­bus, she will over­see all R&D, R&T and CTO ac­tiv­i­ties in the divi­sion. Be­fore her cur­rent po­si­tion, she was head of Cor­po­rate Au­dit & Foren­sic, re­spon­si­ble for Air­bus's global au­dit ac­tiv­i­ties.

B ren­ner has been ap­pointed new head of Mar­ket­ing and Sales. Pre­vi­ously serv­ing as head of Air­bus De­fence and Space In­tel­li­gence clus­ter, he brings a lot of cus­tomer-re­lated and in­ter­na­tional ex­pe­ri­ence to his new role.

To s t rengthen the divi­sion's d ig­i­tal­i­sa­tion ef­forts, Weckesser will serve as dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer. Weckesser joins Air­bus from Siemens, where he helped build the com­pany's 4.0 strat­egy and amassed ex­pe­ri­ence in the field of in­dus­trial dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion.

In re­cent months, Air­bus De­fence and Space had un­der­taken a strat­egy up­date with a clear fo­cus on growth af­ter years of con­sol­i­da­tion. The strat­egy's main pil­lars are a fo­cus on smarter prod­ucts, more ser­vice-based of­fer­ings and ac­cel­er­at­ing dig­i­tal in­no­va­tion.
