Visit of COAS to Kaza­khstan & Turk­menistan

NEW DELHI. Gen­eral Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff vis­ited Kaza­khstan and Turk­menistan from Au­gust 1 to 6, ac­com­pa­nied by a high level mil­i­tary del­e­ga­tion. Dur­ing the visit, the Gen­eral along with the del­e­ga­tion vis­ited im­por­tant mil­i­tary in­stal­la­tions and met a num­ber of high rank­ing dig­ni­taries of both the na­tions. Apart from high level meet­ings in both coun­tries, while in Kaza­khstan Gen Rawat vis­ited the elite Air As­sault Bri­gade and Na­tional De­fence Uni­ver­sity at As­tana where he in­au­gu­rated the In­dian Mil­i­tary Art Room and in Turk­menistan he vis­ited the coun­try’s pres­ti­gious Mil­i­tary In­sti­tute and Mil­i­tary Academy. The Army Chief’s visit to Kaza­khstan & Turk­menistan was yet another In­dian out­reach ini­tia­tive to en­gage with her ex­tended neigh­bour­hood.
