Probe TDP, not me, for links with Reddys, says Jagan
It will not be easy for CBI to connect the dots between YSR Congress party leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is under arrest in connection with an illegal mining case in Andhra Pradesh.
During questioning by CBI on November 4, Jagan gave the investigating agency two orders issued by the erstwhile Telugu Desam Party ( TDP) government to establish that his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, whose government succeeded TDP’S, had not issued any mining lease to Janardhana Reddy’s Obulapuram Mining Company. He also urged CBI to summon TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu. “All decisions had been taken by Naidu (the then chief minister) in accordance with his discretionary powers,” he said.
TDP alleges that Janardhana Reddy routed funds through two entities, RR Global Enterprises and Red Gold, to Jagan’s Jagathi Publications. Jagan denied any business links with Janardhana Reddy and told CBI that he was not aware of the ownership of RR Global Enterprises. The onus is on CBI to gather more evidence.
