HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL
Zana Bee and her husband Hassan are an aged and poor couple who earn meagre incomes from selling vegetables by the roadside in Leh. Before the floods they used to live with their two daughters in a rented accommodation as they do not own a house. On the fateful night when floods devastated Leh, their house was washed away and their elder daughter died. The compensation they received for their elder daughter’s death was invested in purchasing a small piece of land.
CTF, in partnership with SEEDS India, is building a passive solar house where they can live comfortably during all seasons with their younger daughter. Zana Bee and Hassan are extremely grateful to all the donors who contributed to their rehabilitation. Having learnt to cope with the loss in their lives, they now dream of a bright future for their daughter who is studying in Class IX and is keen on pursuing higher studies.
