The sun set on the Empire a few short decades ago, but it’s only now that the monarchy has ruled in favour of its daughters. British prime minister David Cameron recently announced equal rights of royal women to the throne, overturning centuries of an archaic law that placed women last in the line of ascendants. The law comes ironically after the nation has been ruled by an Empress for almost 60 years. Not only that, Britain was also home to Margaret “Iron Lady” Thatcher, who proved to be one of the toughest leaders in the world. There’s potential then, that the William and Kate union will yield more than just a dry, tasteless wedding kiss.
