She achieved the world rank­ing of 20 in in­ter­na­tional squash when she was 19 thus earn­ing the dis­tinc­tion of be­ing the youngest wo­man from In­dia to reach that po­si­tion. Win­ning ti­tles and trav­el­ling across the globe for tour­na­ments while jug­gling her stud­ies along­side, Dipika Re­becca Pal­likal is an achiever who has in­spired many young­sters to take to the squash court. In Oc­to­ber 2011 Pal­likal’s ti­tle tri­umph in WISPA Dread Se­ries 2 tour­na­ment in Washington shot her to the world rank­ing of 19. She be­came the first In­dian to break into top-20 in the world rank­ings in squash.

GAME PLAN She played her first in­ter­na­tional tour­na­ment in Lon­don when she was in the sixth grade and won the French Open, Pioneer Open, Dutch Open, Nordic Open and Scot­tish Open in the ju­nior cat­e­gory be­tween 2004 and 2007. Pal­likal was also the win­ner of the pres­ti­gious Bri­tish Open Ju­niors 2008 which is the squash equiv­a­lent of the Wim­ble­don Ju­niors. If it was Joshna Chi­nappa who put Chen­nai on the squash map of the world, she car­ried the ba­ton far­ther.
