SOUTHERN SILK

India Today - - GLOSSARY -

For Delhi girl Taapsee Pannu, 23, life would not have gone beyond working as a software engineer. Everything changed with her first Tamil movie, Aadukalam. A National Award for it in 2010 got her much needed attention. Having done her time in Tamil and Telugu movies, the starlet is now Mumbai bound. She has been signed opposite actor Siddharth in David Dhawan’s forthcoming movie Chashme Baddoor. Meanwhile another southern actor Flora Saini, 25, may seem confused about what name to settle down with, swinging between Mayuri and Asha. But she is certain about returning to Bollywood. Soon to be seen in the film Dua helmed by Hasnanin Hydrabadwala—director of Jashnn and The Train— she has to her credit films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and also Hindi titles like Love In Nepal with Sonu Nigam. “This movie has given me a lot of performance satisfaction and I am very optimistic about it doing well,” she says. We are glad someone is.
