Food con­sul­tant and writer Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal be­lieves that food is the best ice­breaker to re­late to peo­ple. This be­lief pushed her in the di­rec­tion of food con­sul­ta­tion and blog­ging as a ca­reer.

BLOG IT ON She earned her mas­ter’s de­gree in An­i­ma­tion from the ZED In­sti­tute of creative arts in 1999, but wasn’t keen on pur­su­ing it as a se­ri­ous ca­reer. Then, in 2006, her blog, A Per­fect Bite be­came so pop­u­lar that she was able to take it up as a full-time job. To­day, with over 1,200 fol­low­ers it gets 900 hits a day. Ghildiyal’s com­pany A Per­fect Bite, named af­ter her blog, of­fers food con­sul­tancy to restau­rants and hos­pi­tal­ity com­pa­nies in In­dia and abroad. Her Mum­bai-based clien­tele in­cludes Go­drej Na­ture’s Bas­ket and Amore Gelato among oth­ers.

FOOD TRAILS In 2009 Ghildiyal part­nered with her sis­ter who runs the travel com­pany Bea­con Hol­i­days. Ghildiyal or­ga­nizes trips called Masala Trails twice a year in In­dia wherein trav­ellers are in­tro­duced to the lesser known re­gional del­i­ca­cies of cities like Cochin, Ra­jasthan, Goa and Agra.
