AD SINGH, 28, Fashion designer

India Today - - SIMPLY MUMBAI -

When AD Singh was 17, he designed a jacket for himself and ended up being featured in a leading national daily as a potential fashion designer. This was just the push he needed to dip his toes into the world of fashion designing. Singh set up his first store in Juhu called AD Singh in 2005. Soon Singh ventured into the world of fashion in 2009 with the launch of his label ‘AD Singh’ in Dubai and South Africa. Since then, his designs have been worn not only by Indian beauties, but also international fashion divas like Nelly Furtado, Naomi Campbell and Paris Hilton.

THE JOURNEY Singh studied International Marketing and Finance from Mumbai University and then specialised in Fashion and Design from Wigan and Leigh College, UK, 2003. “Though my father owned a designer outfit franchising company, I wanted to create a label of my own,” he says. His latest project which started in 2010 involves designing formal wear for the employees of Wockhardt Hospitals.
