She is the lady behind the screenplay and dialogues of Ra.one. Meet Kanika Dhillon, also the author of Bombay Duck Is A Fish, her debut novel, released in June this year. It has made it to several bestseller lists. But this Amritsar girl and alumna of London School of Economics calls herself the black sheep of the family. “My parents think I’m a bit of an oddball for having turned down a cushy job offer in London to pursue ‘filmy dreams’ in Mumbai,” she laughs.
TINSEL TOWN Having started her career as an Assistant Director on the film Om Shanti Om, there were days when all she did was take printouts. She then went on to
write Ishaan, a television show for Disney, sitcom Ghar Ki Baat Hai and the additional screenplay for Always Kabhi Kabhi. “Today, the challenge is to keep up with the scale of the work I have already done,” she says.
