If your child has caught the shut­ter bug, en­roll them into pho­tog­ra­phy or film­mak­ing work­shops at the Creative Hut. The cour­ses of­fered here in­clude dig­i­tal pho­tog­ra­phy, film­mak­ing, still pho­tog­ra­phy and ba­sic pho­tog­ra­phy. Chil­dren are taught to han­dle large cam­eras and how to work on dif­fer­ent el­e­ments in­volved in mak­ing a film or tak­ing pho­to­graphs. The cour­ses are highly sub­ject- spe­cific, for ex­am­ple the ba­sic pho­tog­ra­phy course in­cludes in­struc­tion on light­ing and com­po­si­tion along with ev­ery­thing from ex­po­sure con­trol and white bal­ance to fo­cus op­tions. The cour­ses also in­clude prac­ti­cal demon­stra­tions on train­ing your eye to paint light onto a sub­ject, se­lect­ing the right lens and the use of aper­ture and shut­ter speed to con­trol the creative process.
