Looks like film­mak­ers Deepa Mehta, 62, and Mira Nair, 54, are ready to take on the world of in­ter­na­tional film fes­ti­vals with their re­spec­tive forth­com­ing films. Mehta’s adaptation of Sal­man Rushdie’s 1980 clas­sic, Mid­night’s Chil­dren, will be screened at the 37th Toronto In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val, start­ing from Septem­ber 6. Ac­tors Satya Bhabha and Shriya Saran have played the lead roles of Saleem Si­nai and Par­vati. Nair’s adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s 2007 po­lit­i­cal thriller, The Re­luc­tant Fun­da­men­tal­ist, will be screened at the 69th Venice Film Fes­ti­val on Au­gust 29. Kate Hudson and Riz Ahmed have played the lead roles of Erica and Changez. Ah! Clash of the ti­tans.
