Taste of Asia

India Today - - SIMPLY PUNJABI - Compiled by Anandita Gupta

Chi Kitchen and Bar is the latest entrant to Chandigarh’s fine dining list. Barely two months since the restaurant opened its doors in the city’s Sector 7 market, it has become the talk of the town due to its delightful panAsian offerings.

Spread over 1,000 square feet, the restaurant has chic red and black interiors which give it an Oriental look. The menu has a host of items to choose from, and chef Yagyan Gahtri Chi has incorporated more than 150 street

food specialities from China, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia in the menu. To avoid confusion while choosing, we recommend you start your meal with the chicken yakitori skewers— light and flavourful, the chicken is tender and simply melts in the mouth. You could also try the calamari with crispy balls or the Vietnamese grilled fish.

The main course too reflects this culinary variety. Try the teppen stir fried noodles or khauseuy— served with seven condiments providing for a distinct flavour that is otherwise not easily available in the city. The portions are good and the presentation is in sync with the style of Chi. The sumptuous food, good service, and cheery ambience will make you a regular once you’ve eaten here. And, if you’re not in the mood to eat out then you can call them for home delivery. Average meal for two Rs 800 plus taxes At SCO 180, Inner Market, Sector 7 C, Chandigarh Tel 0172 5049595
