As you enter, you can see 13 varieties of organic flour positioned in neatly packed rows alongside four varieties of white, red and brown rice. A store dedicated to organic food, Down To Earth is a godsend for people who swear by natural unadulterated food. With over 300 food products on offer, the store run by Morarka Organic has all that your kitchen needs. Besides cereals ( atta, bajra, barley, jowar, ragi, maize, suji, dalia), rice, pulses and beans, the product range includes poha, muri, rock salt, jaggery, honey, cow ghee, olive oils, cold- pressed cooking oils, aloe vera and amla juice, roasted snacks, soups, chutneys, spices and condiments. The prices of the organic products, nearly 25- 30 per cent higher than conventional food products, present a challenge. “But people are increasingly becoming aware and conscious of their health, and are willing to pay that extra bit,” says store owner Pragati Mundhra. The store also stocks Back to Basics, a textile label that has bed and bath linen as well as innerwear made from organic cotton.
