A riot of colours is the first thing that meets the eye as you enter Anupriya Dutta Gupta’s boutique fashion store, Howrah Bridge. Anupriya’s route to success was paved online as she found that there were many takers from all over the country for her trendy and fashionable clothing line. Kitschy and bright, Anupriya’s designs are simple and her outfits are functional. Ethnic fabrics and modern styling are the highlights of Anupriya’s creations. Kurtis, tunics, dresses, skirts, scarves and saris in cottons, linens and raw silks apart from accessories like necklaces, brooches, laptop skins and canvas wall prints adorn the shelves of this cosy little shop. A bunch of colourful cloth braids used as a necklace or floral- patterned textile brooches are sure to turn heads when teamed with any outfit. One of the few fashion bloggers in the city, Anupriya gave up her 9 to 5 job as a visual merchandiser last year to pursue her dream of an independent label.
