MUDRARIKA

India Today - - SIMPLY CHENNAI -

If you’re the kind of person who’s meticulous about the detailing, uniqueness and craftsmanship of your home design products, Mudrarika is the place for you. This store was started in 2010 by Sheela Raju, a soft skill trainer, with an aim to create a platform for artisans, crafts persons, weavers and social groups from across the country to showcase their art. Today, it has reached out to over 150 artisans and rehabilitation groups. The products range from ethnic apparel, accessories ( jewellery, shoes, bags), decorative artifacts, paintings, home linen, handmade gifts, gift envelopes and daily utility items. Mudrarika’s hand- woven and hand- embroided saris come in a wide and varied collection. Also check out their furniture line and Ajanta- style painted pots, which are a fusion of different art forms. We recommend their Dokra and Brass artefacts for their intricate design and ethnic appeal. The store also has an in- house café that sells freshly made snacks and beverages. Mudrarika’s a great place not just for leisurely shopping but some unwinding too.
