India Today - - SIMPLY MUMBAI - Compiled by Prachi Rege

This monsoon, all you foodies are in for a treat with Michelin- starred Chef Sergi Arola’s first venture in India called Arola, a Spanish bar and restaurant. Located at the JW Marriott in Juhu, the restaurant has been done up with classic, chic interiors featuring bright red sofas coupled with black wooden furniture.

There are many options to start your evening with— given their 30 varieties of gin from across the world adorning the wall behind the bar. And what better way to enjoy your drink than at the Arola’s smoking lounge that provides a lovely view of the Arabian Sea. Blending the styles and tastes of Spanish and Indian culture, the meal at Arola is served in ethnic brass cutlery.

Chef Arola seeks to recreate the popular dishes of his home region, Catalonia. Enjoy the Indian twist, when instead of a basket of bread you will be served a naan with sea salt, virgin olive oil and tomato puree. Begin your meal with the signature Spanish dish, the patatas bravas— miniature deep fried potatoes generously filled with spicy tomato sauce and topped with aioli. The steaming hot Gambas prawns cooked in virgin olive oil and the arroz de bogavante ( lobster rice) are great sea food delights. Served piping hot, the rice is full of little pieces of lobster, making it a satisfying meal. Average meal for two Rs 5,00 inclusive of taxes At Lobby Level, J. W.
