Lead­ing the spurt in eco- ini­tia­tives in the city is Green the Gap, a store that was launched ear­lier this year by Delhi- based NGO Swechha. The store raises aware­ness about en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues by re­cy­cling waste prod­ucts and one can find fash­ion and home dé­cor ac­ces­sories made from re­cy­cled tyre tubes, rice sacks, milk bags and te­tra packs. Some of the ex­cit­ing prod­ucts stocked here in­clude hand- painted bags and back­packs made out of rice sacks, colourful wal­lets, multi- pur­pose pouches, lap­top bags, coin purses, coast­ers and mag­nets made of dis­carded tyre tubes with waste cloth used as lin­ing.
