Chhaap has breathed new life into the dy­ing art of print­ing. Started by three Bar­oda- based artists— Gu­lam Mo­hammed Sheikh, Vi­jay Bagodi and Kavita Shah— this non- profit or­gan­i­sa­tion cre­ates aware­ness about the tra­di­tional way of print­ing and its tech­niques. Here you will find works of artists like Nagji Pa­tel, Jy­oti Bhatt, Paula Sengupta, Suren­dran Nair and Helene Baribeau. Their lat­est col­lec­tion is Gan­jifa ( a card game that orig­i­nated in Per- sia)— 54 artists from In­dia, Ja­pan, USA, Europe and South Africa have used their coun­try’s cul­tural im­pres­sions on these cards. And what makes them unique is that one block which car­ries one de­sign and is used no more than 10 times. Ev­ery piece of art is made with 100 per­cent acid free pa­per.
