Cen­tre for Leg­isla­tive Re­search & Ad­vo­cacy ( CLRA) is an in­de­pen­dent, not- for- profit ini­tia­tive, which works to sup­port and strengthen the Par­lia­ment and leg­is­la­tures through re­search, ad­vo­cacy, net­work­ing and other al­lied ac­tiv­i­ties. The chief ob­jec­tive of the in­tern­ship is to give stu­dents an in- depth un­der­stand­ing of how the par­lia­ment func­tions on a day- to- day ba­sis. The in­terns at CLRA will as­sist Mem­bers of Par­lia­ment ( MP), par­lia­men­tary party of­fices and other po­lit­i­cal party lead­ers in a va­ri­ety of ways from writ­ing press re­leases and speeches, to or­gan­is­ing brief­ing notes and rep­re­sent­ing their MPs or party lead­ers at meet­ings and func­tions. The in­terns will also be ex­pected to at­tend par­lia­men­tary ses­sions when nec­es­sary.

CLRA is an in­de­pen­dent and not- for- profit en­ter­prise, which works to sup­port the Par­lia­ment and leg­is­la­tures through re­search, ad­vo­cacy, net­work­ing and other al­lied ac­tiv­i­ties. Work­ing closely with civil so­ci­ety groups, par­lia­men­tary in­sti­tu­tions, leg­is­la­tors, po­lit­i­cal par­ties, civil ser­vants and me­dia, CLRA builds a space for par­tic­i­pa­tory and co­op­er­a­tive knowl­edge in the pol­icy and de­ci­sion- mak­ing process. The in­tern­ship is suit­able for stu­dents with good re­search skills and a keen in­ter­est in par­lia­men­tary ac­tiv­i­ties.
