HOW MANUBEN’S DIARIES ENTERED THE PUBLIC DOMAIN
Manuben’s diaries were with her at Mahuva till her death in 1969. She told her father Jaisukhlal that the diaries be handed over to Meena Jain, daughter of her sister Sanyuktaben.
The Mumbai- based Meera Jain decided to keep them in her family bungalow at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. 3 In 2010, Varsha Das, the then director of National Gandhi Museum in Delhi and a childhood friend of Jain, went to Rewa on her request and brought the diaries to Delhi to be deposited with the National Archives.
