Amsterdam amazes

India Today - - SIMPLY DELHI - By Ekta Marwaha

Bored of the same old thumping music and run- of- the- mill menu at bars? Try Amsterdam Kitchen and Bar, the latest entrant located in a not so busy lane behind Select Citywalk. Recreated to

look like the notorious red light area of Amsterdam, this moderately sized diner is dimly lit, and three display windows, which by the way have a peep show on Saturday evenings! No nudity involved, it is just a little teaser. We started our meal with Fish Fingers and Wasabi Dip— light and fresh, and full of flavour. The cocktails here are worth a try, gin is the base for all, the Dutch influence, but they all are muddled with fresh tropical fruits. We tried Foreplay, an interesting mix of fresh oranges and gin. For the mains we tried the Grilled Chicken, served with mushroom and caramalised onion sauce. Nice and tender, with just the right flavour. We ended our meal with a complimentary serving of waffles and ice cream; guess why? If you check into the restaurant from your smart phone and like their page, they will make sure your meal ends on a sweet note. Average meal for two Rs 1,000 plus taxes, including alcohol At Ground Floor, DLF South Court Mall, Saket
