veggie lovers

It takes a true Italian to serve the best pasta in town. But it takes a Sicilian to make that pasta vegetarian. “In Sicily, we love fresh vegetables, even our desserts are egg- free,” says ownerchef Dario.

Dario’s, which is less than a year old, it’s the only place in town that serves Sicilian- vegetarian food. Dario says his recipes have strong Arabic influences. “I grew up eating a lot of farm fresh vegetables and serve the simple, home- cooked food I know,” he says. The 120- cover restaurant has a beautiful alfresco area surrounded by bamboo plants. The interiors are warm and casual. Start the meal with the refreshing Aranciazola salad ( mixed salad leaves, orange, spring onion, gorgonzola cheese, herbs and olives). Team this with Pane Aglio E Burro ( garlic bread with parsley and sun- dried tomato pâté). The main course menu has almost 50 varieties of pastas, risottos and pizzas. We recommend Ravioli Kamarina, stuffed with spinach and cheese, served with tomatoes, smashed peas, chickpeas, rosemary and cream. You haven’t eaten a meal here unless you’ve tried their mouth watering eggless tiramisu. Visit Dario’s with your best appetite, as the portions here are meant for a feast
