Lucknow Wakes Up to Luxe Life
The heart of Uttar Pradesh’s capital is developing as the centre of elite townships
Earlier, people would buy a plot and build a mansion on it. With land drying up even in the city’s periphery, people now want to invest in the heart of Lucknow. This is why areas such as Hazratganj, Jopling Road and M. G. Road are developing as hubs of luxury housing,” says S. K. Garg, president of the Uttar Pradesh chapter of CREDAI, the apex body of realtors in India. Shalimar Emerald, the first luxe apartments on Jopling Road, was launched in October 2012 and priced between Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 2.50 crore. The two- and three- BHK flats sold out quickly. The realtor has now launched Shalimar Grand, a similar project in the area, whose USP is an automated car park for residents. Luxury townships such as Ansal API’s Sushant Golf City are also coming up on the city’s fringe, on Shaheed Path that connects the Lucknow- Kanpur and Lucknow-Gorakhpur highways, and on Sultanpur Road and Sitapur Road.
