THE FALLOUT OF

THE LETTER BOMB

India Today - - NATION -

The announcement declaring Narendra Modi as PM candidate may be delayed till after Assembly elections.

CBI has taken cognisance of D. G. Vanzara’s letter and will quiz him about it, treating it as an extra- constitutional confession.

CBI will try to make Vanzara an approver in the case under Section 164 of CrPC. If the IPS officer agrees, Modi could be made an accused in the case.

The letter could also open floodgates for the 32 other policemen accused in encounter cases, to confess, seek pardon and

implicate Modi. CBI could press for cancellation of Amit Shah’s bail in the encounter killings of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati.

With Amit Shah’s credibility at an all- time low, BJP’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh will suffer a blow.

Congress will step up its attack on Modi, now that it has another stick to beat him with.
