Where time meets history

Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest Swiss Haute Horlogerie, will be celebrating Indian photography in its artistic avatar at an exhibition organised in partnership with Tasveer. Tasveer's eighth season of photography exhibitions around the country in 2013- 14 explores how artists, photographers and curators look back at the history of art and reinterpret it for the 21st century. For Vacheron Constantin, the exhibition is doubly momentous since it embodies their entry into the Indian market in 1849, when it sold its first watch in India, at around the same time that the photograph camera arrived on Indian shores following its invention in Europe.
