Lakhs of students sit for the Common Admission Test ( CAT) each year in the hope of making it through to one of the 13 IIMs. A detailed revision plan can help set the odds in your favour. Read our cover story to find out which are the best coaching modules available for CAT- takers today.

Astaggering 2.50 lakh business school aspirants are expected to register for appearing in this year’s Common Admission Test ( CAT). This high figure underscores one very important point– the level of competition for admission to one of the elite Indian Institute of Managements ( IIM) is going to be as intense as ever. To handle such cut- throat competition students need to be fully prepared as the test date approaches.

CAT 2013 will be held over a period of 20 days between 16th October and 11th November. With four new test centres– Surat, Udaipur, Trivandrum and Vijayawada– added to the list, the number of CAT examination locations, for this year, has now increased to 40. “It is important to get enough rest before you arrive at the test centre. A fresh and focused mind is what you need,” advises Professor Rohit Kapoor, Convener, CAT 2013. He also assures students that the computer- based test will not be marred by any technical glitches. “Our test sites are being prepared and we expect a satisfactory testing window,” Kapoor adds.

With just a few weeks to go, it’s essential that students get their best game- face on. Knowing that you are well prepared for the exam will go a long way towards staying calm on D- Day. So go ahead and bell the CAT.
