Aesthetically served

India Today - - SIMPLY KOLKATA -

If instead of the aroma of a strong coffee you prefer a leisurely cuppa, TTBT is your best bet in town. From the finest of Darjeeling and blooming, full bodied Assam tea to fruity South African flavours, this tiny 20- seater café is packed with plenty of tea love. Run by tea planter Mayank Agarwal and his chartered accountant wife Shivani, the café also has a colossal snacks menu, which includes pancakes, sausages, sandwiches, bacon and burgers.

The service is impeccable. And like the tea loving owners, the servers are snooty about their tea. But they know their teas in and out. They might even recommend a glass of water to change your palate before you wrap your hands around a different variety of tea so that you don’t compromise on taste.

CAFFEINE COUNTER Though the café also serves coffee, it is one of the few places in Kolkata where you can get exotic varieties of tea including flavours of pretty blooming teas.

MUNCH THIS Hot buttered toast sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Simple and comforting.

PEOPLE WATCH It is popular with the hip, cool and the odd- girl gang. Also perfect for a first date owing to its quiet and off- the- street location.

INSIDER TIP They have live music every Saturday after 8 pm.
