Slice of Arabia

India Today - - SIMPLY BANGALORE -

Sometimes, all you want to do is loosen your waistband, stop worrying about calories and eat until you’re out of breath. Savoury is a great place to do that while getting the most for your money. The multi cuisine restaurant that prides itself for the Arabic part of their menu provides stiff competition to its neighbour, Empire, on the lively Mosque Road. Just the smell of freshly cooking shwarma is enough to lure a pedestrian indoors. Located in the heart of a foodie paradise, Savoury is a gourmand’s answer to an unfettered relish of meat and all its accompaniments. Whet your appetite with some Al Faham chicken or a shawarma but tie your bib tight for the Arabian meat platter. Truly a smorgasbord of the finest meats that the restaurant offers, be wowed by tiny Lamb Kebabs, Sheekh Kebabs, Chicken Tikkas, fish and more. If you have room, the non- Arabian biryani, chicken or mutton, which comes topped with fried onions, is worth trying, although the Arabian biryani gets a fair amount of attention as well. The menu covers everything from Chinese to Indian and plenty in between. Breakfast is served too so you can start your day right with fluffy appams and keema. The chicken macaroni with cheese is just as familiar and comforting as the gobi Manchurian. A tall order to fulfill.
