The first Indian to take part in the CIK-FIA Karting Academic Trophy—breeding ground for F1 greats such as Ayrton Senna and Lewis Hamilton—Daruvala is already a known face on the karting circuit. New proof of the teenager’s potential—now a trainee at the Sahara Force India F1 Academy—came at the British MSA KF3 Championship, with a brilliant performance in the PF International Circuit.
K13 ush Maini was five years old when go-karting first beckoned him. He’s not looked back since. Racing from age seven, he’s taken part in international races such as the Asia Max Challenge 2008 in Malaysia and Indonesia, and the JL Tyre Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (2008 and 2009), with several podium finishes. His latest achievement was his third place at the World Series Karting race in Italy’s La Conca International Circuit, the first Indian to win there.
