I felt the need to acquire cutting-edge business skills

India Today - - SCHOOL SPECIAL - Vinay Upadhyay Upadhyay, 30, worked for six years with TCS. He will graduate from IIM-CIN 2014.

After six years in the industry, going back to school was not an easy decision. It meant giving up a good salary and position. But the dream of making it big in the corporate world egged me on. In my years with Tata Consultancy Services, I had acquired basic knowledge of how businesses work. As a midcareer professional moving into more important roles, I felt the need to acquire knowledge of cutting-edge business skills that would enable me to excel in leadership roles. So I enrolled for the post graduate programme for executive education at IIM-C. Also, networking is key to success in the corporate world and an MBA education offers a unique opportunity to connect with a large pool of talented and motivated individuals.
