“This is not a commercial collection”
Q. Tell us a little about your collection?
A I was inspired by my first visit to the Kumbh earlier this year. I was amazed at what I saw. Everyone was just wrapped in fabric in so many ways. I find the drape form beautiful on a woman. I’ve always worked with drapes myself. There’s something so soft and feminine about it. Q. What in your opinion is more important—wearable clothes or art? A. This is not a commercial collection. This is for the woman who has a strong identity, has a lot of self-confidence. That said, it’s doing quite well at our stores. But clothes have to be wearable. You have to make a statement within that ‘wearable’ realm.
