Najeeb Jung, who took over as Delhi’s lieutenant governor this July, has won his first battle: To have his predecessor Tejinder Khanna’s officer on special duty ( OSD) transferred. Jung wanted to replace Group Captain Ranjan Mukherjee, a serving
IAF officer, with an OSD of his choice but was unable to do so. Mukherjee, on deputation to the Delhi government since 2007, frequently invoked his clout with Rashtrapati Bhavan to stall the transfer. Jung finally had his way recently, but it turns out the OSD is on leave, preparing for Round 2.
