According to studies carried out at a university in The Netherlands, two unacquainted women tend to mimic each other when eating together for the first time. As soon as one takes a bite, the other follows suit within five seconds. While this may appear to be a piece of completely useless trivia, having this knowledge can actually stop you from overeating at your next business lunch. If you’re conscious of what and how much you’re eating, it is that much easier to stop yourself from going overboard. This may well go a long way in preventing you from putting on unwanted calories. So the next time you’re scheduled to have lunch with another woman, whether you strike a business deal or not, you know you won’t be ending up with an ugly muffin-top for sure.
