It is best to use thick brocade for the blouse itself.

Use a translucent Chanderi with a narrow zari border for the sleeves.

Alternatively, a bodice of Chanderi fabric can be worn over which the sleeveless corset is layered. Make the sleeves in brocade, so you could wear a fully brocade blouse with a light gather or puff at the sleeves.

Design two small pockets in front which allow you to carry a handkerchief or a small box of mouth freshener.

Transform the look of a blouse by just changing the buttons. Buttons covered with different colours of brocade can be fastened to ribbons, making a blouse look completely different.

Layer your blouse with a fitted velvet coat which will keep you warmer than a shawl.

The waistcoat can also have zardozi embroidery on the collar.
