How the Modi cam­paign is spread­ing his word in Ut­tar Pradesh

DIG­I­TAL RATH 401 state-of-the-art raths equipped with LED screens, am­pli­fiers and DVD play­ers will drive across 19,000 vil­lages, mostly in western Ut­tar Pradesh, screen­ing videos of Modi’s rally speeches. They will cover 403 as­sem­bly con­stituen­cies in the state prop­a­gat­ing the ‘Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi’ chant. MODI ARMY Teams of 10 trained vol­un­teers will visit ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tutes in each district. They will ask stu­dents to vote for BJP, if they are el­i­gi­ble, or per­suade elders in their fam­i­lies to vote. WAR ROOMA­group of 200 young BJP work­ers will han­dle Modi’s war room in Varanasi, mon­i­tor­ing the cam­paigns of op­po­si­tion can­di­dates. About a dozen smaller teams will track ri­val can­di­dates on the ground. NIGHT OUT Five mem­bers from BJP’s booth com­mit­tees and one from RSS will sleep overnight near each of the 132,000 booths in Ut­tar Pradesh, where they will talk about Modi’s Gu­jarat model and the party’s agenda. MEHENDI LA­GAO Mem­bers of the BJP Mahila Mor­cha will visit lo­cal­i­ties car­ry­ing cones of mehendi. They will en­gage with women through a door-to-door cam­paign and draw a lo­tus on the palms of those who agree to sup­port BJP.
