The Congress high command’s attempts to unite the party in Rajasthan have backfired. Former Union minister C.P. Joshi skipped a dinner meet organised by ex-CM Ashok Gehlot on October 3. Gehlot and Joshi skipped Rahul Gandhi’s October 6 rally in Delhi. Gehlot has also rebuffed Digvijaya Singh’s advice to shift to Delhi, even telling him that the party would have been better off had the latter stayed on in MP. Clearly, PCC chief Sachin Pilot, who attended both events, is making his rivals nervous.
