Beet­root, ap­ples and maple cock­tails at Vapor Lounge Bar come with a side of imag­i­na­tion.

Here’s a new en­trant to the city’s pub scene—the kind that Chen­nai has had a long time com­ing. Vapor Lounge Bar at the newly launched Feath­ers-A Radha Ho­tel prom­ises to be the nightlife head­quar­ters of the city. Swanky dé­cor, dim light­ing and com­fort­able seat­ing (both in­doors and outdoors) make it one for those long evenings with friends. Give your reg­u­lar poi­son a pass and ask for the in­no­va­tive cock­tail menu here. The Maple Sour, a dif­fer­ent take on the clas­sic Whiskey Sour is smokey, with a flavour of cedar­wood and bit­ter­sweet maple syrup that blends seam­lessly with whiskey. The cock­tails are served on wooden plat­ters with fruit skew­ers for your drink. A few cock­tails might leave you with a crowded ta­ble but then, who’s com­plain­ing? Drop the Blood, a deep red cock­tail is a unique com­bi­na­tion of vodka, beet­root and gin­ger. We love how the two come to­gether in a mildly sweet con­coc­tion.

The lounge has a huge va­ri­ety of fin­ger foods to choose from and here too, the pre­sen­ta­tion is de­signed to im­press. The Warm Sprouts Salad is served in con­i­cal pa­pads in a glass. The Vapor Salad with warm poached chicken, greens and cheese le­mon dress­ing is ten­der and tangy, mak­ing it quite the per­fect pub grub. How­ever, the star of the evening turned out to be the Greek Spanako­pita, a filo pas­try stuffed with spinach, pome­gran­ate and feta cheese. The soft and flaky pas­try was packed with flavours and is some­thing we are sure to go back for.
