Lux­ury brand man­age­ment is pick­ing up pace as one of the most sought af­ter ca­reers. “The In­dian mar­ket is grow­ing with global brands con­cen­trat­ing and cre­at­ing spe­cific strate­gies for the con­sumer. In­dian lux­ury brands are ex­pected to mush­room. It is clearly a ca­reer of the fu­ture,” says Alessan­dro Gi­u­liani, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, MISB Boc­coni, Mum­bai.

What you study Lux­ury brand anal­y­sis, mar­ket­ing strate­gies, brand­ing and in­no­va­tion, so­cial me­dia and PR man­age­ment, prod­uct cre­ativ­ity, fash­ion ad­ver­tis­ing, cre­ative de­sign and lead­er­ship are im­por­tant sub­jects.

Ca­reer Prospects “The best op­tion would be to start with an in­tern­ship and then find a place­ment in an Ital­ian or French lux­ury com­pany,” says Gi­u­liani.

Skills Re­quired “Stu­dents need to know their her­itage, but re­quire wide global ex­po­sure to de­velop knowl­edge about lux­ury brand­ing,” he says.
