With over 30,000 stu­dents grad­u­at­ing ev­ery year, Lovely Pro­fes­sional Univer­sity (LPU), a semi-res­i­den­tial univer­sity lo­cated in Ja­land­har was founded by Ashok Mit­tal in 2005. The univer­sity is af­fil­i­ated with Pun­jab Tech­ni­cal Univer­sity and cur­rently of­fers over 200 pro­grammes in more than 40 dis­ci­plines in­clud­ing en­gi­neer­ing, man­age­ment, phar­macy, fash­ion, ar­chi­tec­ture, and ho­tel man­age­ment. “Com­pa­nies such as Google, Mi­crosoft, Ap­ple, Mo­torola, Mercedes, BMW, Bio­con and Texas In­stru­men­ta­tion have hired LPU stu­dents,” says Ashok Mit­tal, Chan­cel­lor, adding that “LPU has set the record for the high­est num­ber of place­ments in any of the north In­dian uni­ver­si­ties three times in a row.
