Founded in 1984 by Har­vard alum­nus and for­mer MP from Tamil Nadu G Viswanathan, Vel­lore In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy (VIT), has al­ready made its mark in pro­vid­ing qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion in the field of re­search, tech­nol­ogy and man­age­ment. With over 25,000 stu­dents en­rolled in 53 un­der­grad­u­ate and grad­u­ate pro­grammes, VIT of­fers B Tech (in all streams), B Arch, BA LLA, B Com, BCA, BBA, and B Sc mul­ti­me­dia and an­i­ma­tion be­sides M Tech, MCA and M Sc in biotech­nol­ogy. “VIT has been to able to cre­ate a stu­dent-friendly learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment through its fully flex­i­ble credit sys­tem (FFCS) that al­lows stu­dents com­plete free­dom to tai­lor their own course timetable and choice of pro­fes­sors. Also, to im­pact a sense of re­spon­si­bil­ity in its stu­dents, the in­sti­tute makes them or­gan­ise a job fair for non-VIT stu­dents and places them in ad­di­tion to its near 100 per cent place­ment for its own stu­dents,” says G Viswanathan, Chan­cel­lor, VIT.
