Is it diplomatic silence that is keeping Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) from taking sides in the battle between RJD’s Lalu Yadav and BJP leader Sushil Modi (SuMo)? The latter has released copious documents to allege that the RJD boss has amassed properties worth Rs 500 crore. JD(U) Rajya Sabha leader and Nitish confidant R.C.P. Singh said the party was under no compulsion to respond to SuMo’s allegations. “You must ask the people against whom the charges have been levelled,” he said. The JD(U) was also against “dynasty politics”, he added, among the many allegations hurled at the Lalu family.
