Last week, a bride shooed away her groom after his fam­ily asked for a gold pen­dant fol­low­ing the ex­change of gar­lands. There has been an in­ci­dent each in Muzaffarpur, Buxar and Ro­htas this May where brides have as­serted them­selves on the day of their wed­ding.
