This summer, Saini, 50, who has been taking storytelling classes since 2005, plans to offer a unique workshop titled Global Cruise—a discovery of three countries in three different continents (Australia, Argentina and Kenya). The workshop will cover different cultural highlights through hands-on cooking, art and craft, language, sights and sounds, historical and geographical facts. “Folk tales that depict the true image of a country will be shared with the children. Kenyan folk tales based on animals like the tortoise, hare and elephant, legends and contemporary stories from Argentina and well known Australian aborigine folklore will comprise the sessions,” she says. The storyteller adds that being able to weave a magical world to inculcate creativity and listening skills, introduce new words and above all bring a smile to a child's face makes her fall in love with her job everyday.
