She had contested the 2016 Lok Sabha bypoll, only to lose to BJP candidate Gyan Singh. He had contested the 2009 LS polls, but lost to her mother, Rajesh Nandini Singh. Himadri Singh, 31, daughter of the late Dalbir Singh, former Union minister and Congress MP from Shahdol, and Narendra Marawi, 35, BJP leader and chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Commission seemd primed for a political contest in the future. Instead, they got engaged on June 8 in Shahdol, with politicians from both parties dropping in to bless them.
