Jewels of Desire

Eina Ahluwalia recalls her most memorable moment, when her Kirpan necklace unveiled at the Lakme Fashion Week 2010 met with a collective gasp from the audience and left a few with goose bumps and tears. Over the years, Ahluwalia has created a new kind of space for jewellery and has been one of the most conceptual designers in India. Her strength of inspiration and design came from her own sister's domestic abuse saga. According to her, her jewellery is not about ornamentation, "On the contrary, it is a liberating expression of one’s personality. It speaks of who we are, how we think," she says.

Latest Pick Her recent collaboration with Swarovski has yielded a dazzling, limited edition range of earrings, neckpieces and finger rings, aptly christened Rruhi. Sleek, elegant and luxe, the line is part of Confluence by Swarovski and is Ahluwalia’s first tryst with crystals. Details Tel 9831059125
