Sushil Mo­hta, MD Mer­lin Group, talks about new de­vel­op­ments and what makes the Acropolis Mall a win­ner.

Q. What makes the Acropolis Mall stand out? Acropolis is an iconic ar­chi­tec­tural mas­ter­piece with state-of-the-art fa­cil­i­ties. It's sit­u­ated at a prime lo­ca­tion close to an area that has been a favoured shop­ping des­ti­na­tion for years. Suf­fi­cient park­ing space, a fan­tas­tic net­work of ver­ti­cal trans­porta­tion and a top-of-the-line fa­cil­ity-man­age­ment team en­sure max­i­mum con­ve­nience for cus­tomers and store own­ers alike. Be­sides, we house some of the top re­tail and F&B brands in the city. Q. What is your USP? We be­lieve that a mall is not merely a shop­ping des­ti­na­tion, it have evolved into a space where peo­ple so­cialise. So we strive to cre­ate a place where peo­ple, ir­re­spec­tive of whether they make a pur­chase or not, can come and have a good time. Our big­gest USP is our ef­fort at en­gag­ing with our cus­tomers so that they feel con­nected to the space, and keep re­turn­ing to it not just to shop but to have a good time. Q. How do you forge a con­nect with peo­ple com­ing to the mall? Through­out the year, we or­gan­ise var­i­ous events like an­nual in­ter-col­lege fests, fash­ion shows, mid­night mega sales, and sea­sonal sales fea­tur­ing lucky draws with at­trac­tive prizes in­clud­ing cars, two-wheel­ers and iPhones. We have also or­gan­ised magic shows and Juras­sic Park fes­ti­val, com­plete with themed dé­cor and ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren. We use our large cen­tral atrium for such ac­tiv­i­ties. Q. Is there any event in the pipe­line? Au­gust will fea­ture our an­nual 3-day in­ter-col­lege gala Festopo­lis that has seen par­tic­i­pa­tion from as many as 40 col­leges at a time, while in Septem­ber the mall will host a fun bak­ery fes­ti­val. Q. How are you gear­ing up for the fes­tive sea­son? Dur­ing Durga puja and Di­wali, the mall will sport fes­tive themed dé­cor, while later in the year for Christ­mas and New Years, our fo­cus will be on chil­dren. Along with theme-dé­cor that would ap­peal to them, we will also pack in fun ac­tiv­i­ties. Be­sides, we will also be host­ing a mega shop­ping fes­ti­val. Q. Any new brand mak­ing an en­try? We are talk­ing to sev­eral fash­ion and ac­ces­sories brands. He­lios, the mul­ti­ple brand watch store from the Tata sta­ble is com­ing up soon.

I must share that Star­bucks is also com­ing to Acropolis soon, hope­fully by Jan­uary.
